Deloitte has acquired the first license for investment advisory services in the upcoming stock exchange more than a month after the Ethiopian Capital Markets Authority (ECMA) first began offering licensure.
The international consulting giant, represented by Tewodros Sisay, its head economic advisor for Africa, was granted the license by Brook Taye (PhD), ECMA director-general, at the Authority’s headquarters.
“We are well positioned to support businesses in Ethiopia to thrive and succeed in today’s fast-paced and ever-changing business environment,” said Tewodros.
“This is the first of many milestones to come. In the next few weeks and months, we look forward to seeing the first investment bank, the first broker, and the first market maker acquire a license,” Brook said.
