The Office of the Prime Minister has announced yet another cabinet shakeup as Shewit Shanka leaves her post as chair of Parliament’s standing committee for Urban, Infrastructure and Transport Affairs to head the Ministy of Culture and Sport.
She replaces Kejela Merdasa, an OLF party member who had led the Ministry since 2021. Kejela has been appointed as an advisor to the PM on Youth and Sport Affairs.
Kassahun Gofe will replace Gebremeskel Chala at the helm of the Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration after having served as a state minister for Trade. It is not yet clear what capacity Gebremeskel will serve in following his exit from the Ministry.
