Daniel Bekele (PhD) has stepped down from his position as head of the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) following the expiration of a five-year term appointed by Parliament.
Rakeb Messele, deputy commissioner, will stay on to lead the EHRC until lawmakers appoint a new commissioner.
