Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Abdullah, arrived in Addis Ababa today for talks with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) on “developments in the region and efforts to enhance regional security and stability.”

The Minister arrives against a backdrop of growing pressures in the intertwined geopolitics of the Gulf and Horn regions, and coincides with the start of the 39th AU summit in the Ethiopian capital.

PM Abiy tweeted that the two held “productive discussions on a broad range of bilateral and multilateral issues.”

“Our talks focused on strengthening the longstanding ties between our two countries, expanding cooperation across key sectors, and enhancing coordination on regional and global matters of mutual interest,” reads his social media post.
